About the Role
We are looking for a Program Manager to drive initiatives across our first-mile and mid-mile network, covering the movement of goods from vendors to mother hubs and warehouses, and onward to dark stores. You will own programs that improve speed, cost, reliability, and scalability of inbound and line-haul operations, so that stores stay replenished on time in a high-velocity business.
Key Responsibilities
Program Ownership
- Plan and run first-mile and mid-mile programs end to end, from scoping and milestones to delivery and post-launch review.
- Maintain roadmaps, risk logs, and dependency trackers across Procurement, Warehousing, Transport, Finance, Tech, and Store Operations.
- Run weekly and monthly business reviews and give leadership clear updates on progress, risks, and blockers.
First Mile Programs
- Drive vendor pickup and inbound scheduling programs, including appointment booking, slot management, and dock-to-stock TAT improvement.
- Improve farm-to-hub and vendor-to-warehouse flows for fresh and perishable categories, with a focus on quality, wastage, and cold chain.
- Work with procurement on vendor delivery compliance, ASN accuracy, and inbound OTIF.
Mid Mile Programs
- Optimize line-haul and hub-to-dark-store movement through route planning, trip consolidation, and fleet utilization.
- Run transporter onboarding, rate contracts, and performance management programs (vehicle fill, TAT, damage, delivery adherence).
- Improve replenishment cycle times and cut-off adherence so stores receive stock before peak demand windows.
Cost & Network Optimization
- Reduce cost per kg / cost per case / cost per trip through route optimization, load planning, and vendor mix changes.
- Support network design decisions such as hub placement, cross-docking, and milk-run models.
- Build business cases and size savings for new initiatives.
Process, Tech & Automation
- Define requirements and work with product and tech teams on TMS, route optimization, vehicle tracking (GPS/telematics), and inbound/outbound visibility tools.
- Standardize SOPs for loading, unloading, seal and handover, GRN, and shortage/damage claims.
- Reduce manual effort and turnaround time through process redesign and automation.
Analytics & Reporting
- Build dashboards and track KPIs: inbound TAT, trip utilization, cost per trip, on-time dispatch and delivery, shortage and damage rates.
- Use data to find bottlenecks, run root-cause analyses, and drive corrective actions.
Governance & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to transport, safety, and statutory requirements (E-way bill, vehicle documentation, driver compliance, FSSAI for food movement).
- Manage transporter SLAs, penalties, claims, and dispute resolution.
Qualifications
- 4–8 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, transport operations, or program management, ideally in e-commerce, quick commerce, retail, FMCG, or 3PL.
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or equivalent from a reputed institute preferred.
- Proven record of delivering cross-functional programs with measurable cost, speed, or reliability impact.
